Where this album fits

Career context
Released in 2011, Apocalypso marked The Motels' first studio album since 1998's The Motels and represented a significant return to form for the band. This release came after a decade-long hiatus during which the band's lineup had changed considerably, with Martha Davis at the helm as the sole original member. Apocalypso aimed to reconnect with their classic sound while exploring contemporary themes.
