What makes Signs by Bloc Party notable?

The remixes on 'Signs' received significant attention within both the indie and electronic music communities, highlighting Bloc Party's influence on genre crossover. The Armand van Helden remix, in particular, garnered club play and contributed to the evolving sound of the late 2000s dance scene, showcasing how established rock bands were embracing remix culture. By the time 'Signs' was released in April 2009, Bloc Party had established themselves as a prominent band in the UK indie rock scene, following their acclaimed albums 'Silent Alarm' and 'A Weekend in the City'. This release marked a shift as it featured remixes rather than original content, showcasing the band's willingness to explore new sonic territories and engage with electronic music.
