His work encourages listeners to engage deeply with their own perceptions, inviting them into a world that often challenges conventional boundaries of sound and silence. By fostering an environment where sonic experimentation thrives, Baker contributes to a broader cultural dialogue around what music can express and how it can be experienced. Baker's approach is marked by a meticulous layering of sounds, merging ambient drones with intricate guitar work, thereby crafting immersive auditory landscapes. He often employs extended techniques and unconventional instrumentation, which create a sense of fluidity and movement within his compositions. This innovative process allows him to blur the lines between performance and installation, making each listening experience feel like a unique encounter with sound itself. Lyrically, Baker frequently delves into themes of introspection, nature, and the human condition, approached with a tone that balances sincerity with an abstract quality. His storytelling often leans toward impressionistic imagery rather than straightforward narratives, allowing listeners to draw personal connections from the emotions embedded in the music. Through this reflective lens, he invites an intimate engagement with his work.
