His work has been instrumental in pushing this genre into new territories, intertwining intricate rhythms with emotive melodies that resonate deeply with listeners. Rother’s influence extends beyond his own releases; he has played a crucial role in cultivating a vibrant underground scene, creating spaces where both dance and introspection coexist. Rother’s approach to music-making involves a blend of technical precision and raw emotion. He often embraces analog sounds while incorporating digital techniques, crafting tracks that feel both timeless and modern. This duality allows his music to operate on multiple levels, from the cerebral to the visceral, engaging listeners in ways that encourage them to lose themselves on the dance floor while also sparking introspection. Themes in Rother's songwriting frequently revolve around the complexities of human experience—alienation, desire, and the interplay between technology and emotion. His writing style tends toward an impressionistic voice, favoring atmosphere over narrative clarity, which invites listeners to immerse themselves in their own interpretations rather than just absorbing a straightforward story.
