About Carlos Núñez

Carlos Núñez stands at a vibrant intersection of cultural heritage and contemporary sound, breathing new life into the traditional melodies of Celtic music while forging connections that resonate beyond borders.

His work not only revives ancient tunes but also invites listeners to experience a rich tapestry of history and emotion, making his contributions significant in both the folk and world music landscapes. Núñez employs a deeply immersive approach to his craft, utilizing the gaita (a traditional Galician bagpipe) alongside various instruments to create a soundscape that feels both timeless and fresh. This synthesis allows him to explore the nuances of traditional melodies while infusing them with modern rhythms and structures, enabling audiences to feel the emotional weight of each note in a way that transcends language or cultural barriers. His songwriting often reflects themes of nostalgia, celebration, and connection to roots, with an emphasis on storytelling that bridges generations. Through a sincere and emotive voice, Núñez crafts narratives that evoke vivid imagery and shared experiences, resonating with listeners regardless of their background. The tone balances between reverence for tradition and an open-hearted embrace of innovation.
