They create a space where listeners can confront vulnerability and uncertainty, making their sound both a refuge and a mirror for those navigating the complexities of an increasingly fragmented world. Their approach is rooted in a raw authenticity that prioritizes immediacy and honesty. By leaning into unpolished instrumentation and candid vocal delivery, they foster an environment where imperfections become strengths, allowing the music to breathe and resonate on a personal level. This DIY ethos encourages a sense of intimacy between the artist and listener, transforming performances into shared cathartic experiences. Lyrically, Criteria often explores themes of introspection, alienation, and the search for connection in an overwhelming landscape. Their writing blends sincerity with a wry sense of irony, employing storytelling that feels relatable yet layered with nuance, encouraging listeners to reflect on their own journeys. The tone strikes a balance between earnestness and observation, creating narratives that feel both grounded and expansive.
