His ability to capture the raw energy of live performances has reshaped how audiences engage with DJ sets, turning them into immersive experiences that feel as much like communal rituals as concerts. This connection extends beyond mere entertainment; it taps into a culture that prioritizes cathartic release through sound, creating a space where listeners can find themselves lost in a sea of pulsating frequencies. Innovatively melding elements of brostep and riddim, Excision crafts soundscapes that oscillate between chaos and precision. He utilizes complex layering techniques and heavy drops that create an almost tactile sensation, challenging the limits of what bass music can achieve. His approach often includes intricate sound design that invites listeners to explore the depths of their auditory perception, pushing boundaries not just sonically but also in how fans experience the music live. Lyrically, Excision’s work frequently explores themes of transformation and catharsis, often reflecting the tumultuous journey of self-discovery. His writing leans towards impressionistic storytelling, invoking feelings rather than explicitly narrating tales. This allows listeners to project their own experiences onto the music, forging a personal connection with each set and track while remaining deeply rooted in sincerity.
