By weaving personal experiences into his music, he resonates with listeners seeking authenticity and emotional connection, encouraging a shift away from the superficiality that can dominate contemporary rap. His approach is rooted in a DIY ethos, marked by an uncompromising desire to explore complex themes through atmospheric production choices and innovative lyricism. Hodgy often adopts a lo-fi aesthetic that complements the rawness of his storytelling, allowing him to create immersive soundscapes that feel both intimate and expansive. This sonic versatility invites listeners into his world, where they can experience the ebb and flow of his thoughts and emotions. Lyrically, Hodgy often delves into themes of self-reflection, existential questioning, and the nuances of relationships. His writing strikes a balance between sincerity and irony, employing a conversational tone that draws listeners in while maintaining a sense of distance. This duality allows for layered interpretations, engaging audiences on multiple emotional levels.
