By focusing on long-form compositions, Stearns has created auditory experiences that encourage deep listening, often prompting audiences to engage with their surroundings in a new light. Stearns approaches his craft with a keen understanding of how sound can manipulate perception and evoke emotion. His innovative use of synthesizers and natural soundscapes allows him to blend organic elements with electronic textures seamlessly. This synthesis not only highlights the physicality of sound but also underscores the connection between nature and technology, making each piece a meditation on the interplay between these realms. In his songwriting, Stearns often explores themes of nature, consciousness, and transcendence. His tone is both contemplative and serene, employing impressionistic storytelling to create vivid imagery without being overly literal.
