His work has encouraged a deeper appreciation for immersive listening experiences, allowing audiences to explore the boundaries of consciousness through sound. By creating environments that blur the line between reality and imagination, Rich has fostered a communal atmosphere where contemplative engagement takes precedence. Rich's innovative approach lies in his use of unconventional instruments and techniques, often drawing from natural sounds and field recordings to construct sprawling auditory landscapes. This meticulous attention to texture and detail transforms each piece into a journey rather than a destination, inviting listeners to navigate the nuances of their inner worlds. He often employs extended compositions that evolve slowly over time, creating a sense of timelessness that transcends traditional song structures. In his songwriting, Rich frequently explores themes of introspection, nature, and transcendence. His voice is both ethereal and grounded, merging sincerity with impressionistic storytelling that evokes vivid imagery without relying on narrative clarity. This allows listeners to project their own experiences onto the music, fostering personal connections that resonate deeply.
