Their work has carved out a space within the post-rock scene where emotional resonance takes precedence over traditional song structures, allowing listeners to engage with music as a living entity rather than mere background noise. The group's approach is marked by an experimental ethos that thrives on collaboration, blending diverse instrumental textures and layering sounds to create sprawling sonic tapestries. This method not only challenges conventional songwriting but also encourages a fluidity that embodies the unpredictability of lived experiences, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in a shared moment of sonic exploration. Lyrically, Set Fire to Flames often traverses themes of memory, loss, and fleeting connections, weaving narratives that linger in the air like echoes from a distant past. Their storytelling leans towards impressionistic imagery rather than straightforward narratives, employing a tone that balances sincerity with an underlying sense of melancholy. Each piece evokes a visceral response, prompting reflection and introspection through evocative soundscapes.
