His skillful fiddling transcends mere performance, inviting audiences to experience a rich tapestry of emotions that resonate deeply, fostering a connection that feels both intimate and expansive. Duncan's approach is rooted in a sense of spontaneity and collaboration, often bringing together diverse musicians to create a sonic dialogue that evolves organically during live performances. This emphasis on interplay not only showcases his mastery but also emphasizes the communal aspect of music-making, encouraging listeners to feel part of an ongoing conversation rather than passive recipients of sound. Common themes in his songwriting revolve around nostalgia, landscape, and personal introspection, delivered through a voice that balances sincerity with subtle irony. His narratives often evoke vivid imagery and emotional depth, drawing listeners into stories that feel both universal and intimately personal, while his tone maintains a playful yet poignant demeanor.
