About The Brian Setzer Orchestra

The Brian Setzer Orchestra matters not just for its revival of swing music but for how it reshaped contemporary perceptions of big band sounds.

By merging the energy of rockabilly with the elegance of jazz orchestration, the group reintroduced a vintage aesthetic to modern audiences, igniting a widespread dance craze and inspiring a new generation of musicians to explore classic forms in innovative ways. Setzer's approach to arranging is rooted in exuberance, where traditional horn sections collide with rhythmic guitar riffs, creating an infectious atmosphere that prompts movement on the dance floor. The band's performances are marked by a theatrical flair, utilizing both orchestrated arrangements and spontaneous moments that give each show a unique character, fostering a sense of community among listeners who revel in this shared experience. Lyrically, Setzer often explores themes of love, nostalgia, and the thrill of nightlife, conveyed through a voice that balances sincerity with playful irony. His storytelling tends to evoke vivid imagery while maintaining an upbeat tone, inviting listeners into a world where romance and revelry reign supreme.
