About Vektroid

Vektroid matters in the digital soundscape for its role in shaping the vaporwave movement, a genre that captures and critiques consumer culture through a warped lens of nostalgia.

With an emphasis on the surreal and the atmospheric, Vektroid's music invites listeners to lose themselves in a sonic world where the familiar is stripped of its original context, provoking reflection on aesthetics and identity in a hyper-digital age. The process behind Vektroid's work is characterized by a collage-like approach, utilizing samples from various media sources to create immersive auditory experiences that resonate with both melancholy and whimsy. This innovative technique underscores a method of production that feels both fleeting and timeless, evoking the essence of a dreamlike state while engaging with the rapid pace of contemporary life. Lyrically, Vektroid often explores themes of nostalgia, isolation, and the impact of technology on human connection. The writing style leans towards impressionistic glimpses rather than traditional narratives, employing a voice that feels both distant and deeply personal. This creates an atmosphere rich with irony and sincerity, allowing listeners to navigate their own interpretations within the layered soundscapes.
