What makes Is It Me by The Kooks notable?

This release was notable for its critical reception, with particular praise for its raw and stripped-back production compared to their earlier work. Although not chart-topping, it allowed The Kooks to maintain relevance in the indie scene, particularly among fans who appreciated its sincerity over commercial polish. By the time 'Is It Me' was released in September 2011, The Kooks were coming off their successful sophomore album, 'Konk', which had solidified their presence in the UK music scene. This EP represents a transitional phase for the band, showcasing a more experimental approach while trying to maintain their established sound during a period of lineup changes.
