What makes Science of Silence by Richard Ashcroft notable?

The album includes the remix of Check the Meaning, which gained notable attention and contributed to Ashcroft's sound evolving beyond traditional Britpop. While it did not achieve significant commercial success compared to his previous work, it exemplified Ashcroft's artistic exploration during a time when many Britpop artists were pivoting towards more eclectic influences. Released in January 2003, Science of Silence marks Richard Ashcroft's second solo album following his debut, Alone with Everybody.
