Her work challenges the conventional roles of guitar and voice, highlighting the emotive power of both through her innovative arrangements and performance style. By blending her cultural roots with improvisational elements, she invites audiences to reconsider the relationship between rhythm and melody, creating a fresh dialogue that resonates in contemporary music. Assad's approach is marked by an intimate, percussive guitar technique paired with vocal explorations that often transcend language. She incorporates intricate layers of sound, using her voice not merely as an instrument but as a canvas for storytelling, allowing silence and space to enhance the emotional weight of her narratives. This process results in a sonic landscape that feels both spontaneous and carefully crafted, reflecting her diverse influences while maintaining a strong sense of identity. Her songwriting tends to explore themes of love, longing, and introspection, often weaving personal experiences with broader cultural reflections. With a tone that balances sincerity and subtle irony, Assad engages listeners through vivid imagery rather than straightforward narratives, inviting them into her world without explicit direction.
