His work transcended mere entertainment; it became anthemic, resonating with the struggles and aspirations of the Cuban Revolution and beyond. With songs that echoed the sentiments of an era, Puebla’s music not only reflects cultural pride but also serves as a rallying cry for social justice, making him a cultural touchstone. Puebla's approach to songwriting is rooted in a deep connection to his homeland's history and its people. He meticulously weaves narratives that are both personal and collective, using traditional forms while infusing them with contemporary relevance. His guitar strumming often accompanies simple yet powerful melodies, creating a direct line between artist and audience that invites participation and reflection. Lyrically, Puebla often explores themes of identity, resistance, and hope, employing a tone that balances sincerity with an almost folkloric storytelling style. His voice carries an earnestness that draws listeners into his world, where each song feels like a shared experience rather than just performance. Through irony and sincerity intertwined, he crafts vignettes that are at once intimate and universal.
