Her music resonates deeply with audiences, not only for its infectious rhythms but also for its capacity to evoke a sense of nostalgia and belonging, bringing together diverse listeners under a shared emotional umbrella. Gilda's approach to music emphasizes authenticity and vulnerability, often employing a raw vocal delivery that cuts through the polished veneer typical in popular music. By grounding her sound in traditional cumbia while infusing it with personal narratives, she creates an inviting space where listeners can feel both the weight of her lyrics and the buoyancy of her melodies. This fusion allows her to traverse boundaries, drawing connections between past and present cultural expressions. In her songwriting, Gilda frequently explores themes of love, loss, and resilience with a lyrical sincerity that invites connection. She balances heartfelt storytelling with an impressionistic tone that reflects deeper emotional truths rather than overt narratives. This duality makes her work relatable yet profound, encouraging listeners to reflect on their own experiences while moving to the rhythm of her music.
