Their energetic performances challenge the notions of nostalgia by inviting audiences to engage with a genre often overlooked, transforming it into a vibrant celebration that transcends generations. In doing so, they not only honor the roots of Jamaican music but also breathe new life into it, creating a space where past influences resonate with today's listeners. At the heart of their approach lies a dedication to authenticity combined with a fresh perspective. The band’s process incorporates classic instrumentation, lively horn sections, and rhythmic guitar patterns that harken back to the original ska era while infusing each track with an unmistakable energy. This commitment to preserving the essence of the music while innovating its delivery allows them to resonate with both purists and newcomers alike, sparking a renewed interest in the genre. Lyrically, Palma's songwriting often reflects themes of love, social commentary, and celebration, encapsulated in an accessible yet deeply felt manner. The tone ranges from playful and ironic to earnest and reflective, creating narratives that are engaging without straying too far into abstraction. This storytelling approach fosters a connection with listeners who find familiarity in both their experiences and emotions.
