With their raw energy, they infused the chaos of punk with the improvisational freedom of jazz, prompting listeners to reconsider the possibilities of rhythm and structure in a scene often characterized by rigidity. The band approached their music with an avant-garde spirit, employing a high-energy mix of tight grooves and frenetic instrumentation that brought an unpredictability to live performances. This willingness to experiment with dissonance and over-the-top performance styles created a new sonic landscape where wildness could coexist with intricate musicianship, encouraging audiences to engage with music as something both cerebral and corporeal. Lyrically, Chance often explores themes of urban alienation, personal struggle, and the absurdity of modern life, imbuing his storytelling with a sense of irony that dances between sincerity and provocation. His delivery, both frantic and commanding, invites listeners into a world where chaos is not just noise but a form of expression that captures raw human emotion.
