His work stands as a testament to jazz's transformative power, showcasing how improvisation can serve as both a conversation and a meditation, shaping the way audiences experience sound. Granelli's approach is marked by an innovative use of rhythm and texture, often drawing from his extensive background in free jazz. He embraces the unexpected, allowing each performance to evolve organically, which not only captivates audiences but also challenges musicians to engage in a dialogue that prioritizes feeling over strict structure. This dedication to process opens up new avenues for expression within the genre, pushing against traditional boundaries while remaining rooted in its core. Lyrically, Granelli tends to explore themes of connection and reflection, using soundscapes to evoke a range of emotions without relying on words. His voice often weaves between sincerity and abstraction, crafting narratives that are impressionistic rather than literal. This storytelling approach fosters a sense of universality, allowing listeners to find their own meanings within the music's fluidity.
