His ability to connect personal narratives with universal themes has made his work a vehicle for both laughter and introspection, inviting listeners to navigate the complexities of life alongside him. Epps approaches music with an authenticity that mirrors his stand-up style, often drawing from his own experiences to craft relatable and genuine songs. This process is marked by a willingness to be vulnerable, as he intertwines anecdotes with sharp wit, creating a space where humor and emotional depth coexist harmoniously. In his songwriting, Epps frequently explores themes of resilience, love, and the challenges of everyday life, employing a conversational tone that fosters intimacy. His storytelling is impressionistic rather than strictly narrative, allowing listeners to feel the weight of each moment while maintaining an engaging lightness through irony and sincerity.
