About Perrey and Kingsley

Perrey and Kingsley occupy a unique space in the landscape of electronic music, where their playful experimentation with sound has challenged perceptions of what music can be.
By harnessing the possibilities of early synthesizers and tape manipulation, they not only contributed to the avant-garde movement but also paved the way for later electronic artists to explore whimsical and imaginative sonic realms.
By harnessing the possibilities of early synthesizers and tape manipulation, they not only contributed to the avant-garde movement but also paved the way for later electronic artists to explore whimsical and imaginative sonic realms. Their distinctive approach has encouraged audiences to embrace a sense of curiosity and joy in music that strays from conventional forms. Their process was marked by a sense of wonder and spontaneity, using technology as an instrument for creativity rather than mere replication. With an emphasis on improvisation and collaboration, Perrey and Kingsley crafted tracks that oscillate between the surreal and the accessible, inviting listeners into a world where sound is both playful and profound. This innovative spirit underscored their belief that music could evoke emotions without relying solely on traditional song structures or lyrical narratives. The duo often explores themes of nostalgia and futurism through a lens of whimsy, crafting soundscapes that feel simultaneously familiar and otherworldly. Their writing approach balances sincerity with an ironic twist, engaging audiences through vivid imagery and clever juxtapositions rather than straightforward storytelling. This unique blend fosters an atmosphere rich in both emotion and intellect.
