Her mastery as a vocalist and pianist reshaped the landscape of jazz, channeling nuanced storytelling through her rich interpretations that resonate deeply with audiences, elevating the genre's expressive potential. Horn approached music with an extraordinary sense of time and space, often employing a languorous pacing that invites reflection and allows her unique voice to shine. She would frequently employ subtle dynamics and delicate phrasing, creating a musical environment where each note feels intentional and every silence is pregnant with meaning. This meticulous attention to detail redefined how performers interact with their audience, encouraging a more contemplative listening experience. Her songwriting embraces themes of love, loss, and longing, often infused with an autobiographical authenticity that evokes sincerity. Horn's tone ranges from tenderly introspective to playfully ironic, striking a balance between storytelling and impressionism that captures the listener's imagination.
