About Times New Viking

Times New Viking matters for their role in the lo-fi movement, embodying a raw and unfiltered approach that resonates with audiences seeking authenticity over polish.

Their music serves as a counter-narrative to mainstream production, creating a space where imperfections are celebrated rather than shunned, fostering a community that values immediacy and emotional honesty. The trio’s process involves embracing a DIY ethos, often recording on vintage equipment that lends their sound a gritty texture, while their live performances maintain an energy that is both chaotic and cathartic. This approach not only captures the spontaneity of their studio work but also invites listeners into an experience that feels personal and immediate, blurring the line between artist and audience. Lyrically, Times New Viking frequently explores themes of disillusionment, nostalgia, and the mundane aspects of everyday life, wrapped in a sardonic tone that balances irony with sincerity. Their storytelling tends to evoke vivid snapshots of experiences rather than linear narratives, allowing listeners to find relatability in their fragmented yet poignant observations.
