His music serves as a beacon for those navigating questions of love, belonging, and self-acceptance, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community. Through his heartfelt performances, Goss cultivates an atmosphere of intimacy and connection that resonates deeply with audiences seeking solace and understanding. Goss approaches songwriting with a distinctly conversational tone, often drawing from his own life experiences to craft compelling stories that feel both specific and universal. His use of melodic hooks paired with rhythmic storytelling creates an engaging soundscape that invites listeners to lean in closer. This method not only highlights his lyrical vulnerability but also showcases his ability to weave emotional narratives into the fabric of folk rock and blue-eyed soul, making each song feel like a shared moment rather than just a performance. Common lyrical themes include love in its many forms, the quest for acceptance, and the journey of self-discovery. His voice carries a sincere warmth that balances irony with authenticity, allowing listeners to find comfort in both joyful and challenging moments of their lives. The storytelling approach is impressionistic at times, painting vivid scenes while leaving room for personal interpretation.
