As a solo artist, he carves out a space where alternative rock meets electronica, infusing narratives that resonate with disillusionment and wit. His music often serves as a commentary on societal norms, pushing listeners to reflect on their surroundings while navigating the complexities of existence. Haines approaches songwriting with an irreverent flair, employing a blend of sharp observations and playful irony. He crafts songs that oscillate between narrative storytelling and impressionistic snapshots, allowing listeners to interpret the mood and message in their own ways. This method results in tracks that feel both immediate and contemplative, challenging conventional songwriting structures while embracing the unpredictable nature of life. His lyrical themes frequently explore isolation, nostalgia, and the absurdity of fame, often delivered through a sardonic tone that invites both laughter and introspection. The juxtaposition of earnestness and satire creates a unique listening experience that encourages deep engagement with each track.
